Welcome to my Studio
'm an intuitive abstract painter based in Portland, Oregon. For more than 30 years, I've followed my curiosity through color, texture, and the unexpected. Along the way, my paintings have found homes in private collections and public spaces around the world.

Nature is a constant source of inspiration, although I'm less interested in painting what I see than in capturing what I feel. Whether I'm creating an abstract landscape or a more expressive Colorsplash painting, I leave room for imagination and discovery. I love the idea that someone might see something in a painting that I never imagined myself.

Working with acrylic paint, I build layers of color and texture using unusual tools and a variety of paint viscosities. Paint is poured, splashed, sprayed, and scraped across the surface. I follow what happens, responding to the surprises along the way. Those happy accidents are often where the magic lives.

More than anything, I want my paintings to feel vibrant yet peaceful. To offer a moment to pause, wander, and perhaps escape for a while.
“One of my greatest joys in life is painting. I know I am exactly where I need to be when I am smiling, breathing deeply, and feeling relaxed." Lori Latham
A Peek Inside My Studio

My studio is my favorite place to be. You'll often find me listening to loud music, flinging paint around, and asking myself one of my favorite questions:

“What would happen if I did THIS?”

I love experimenting without knowing where I'll end up. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't, but the unexpected discoveries are what keep me coming back for more.
Stormy Monday : The Process

I love the deep, moody colors in Stormy Monday. In this video, I'm experimenting with different ways to move paint across the canvas, building layers of color and texture to capture the feeling of a storm rolling in.
There's always an element of surprise, and that's part of the fun.
