My initial intentions for a painting are rarely apparent at the end. I paint abstract landscapes and focus on following the flow of the paint. Letting go of expectations and desire of what I want is challenging, but the joy and freedom of “anything goes” is worth the risk every time.
Painting layers of rich translucent colors to create visual texture is key to my painting. I enjoy experimenting with a variety tools and viscosity of paint to discover the textures and shapes that reveal the landscape over time.
